Foundations

The Ronald McDonald House is a gift from the Maryland community.
It reflects the very best of who we are and what we have to share.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation

Friday afternoon, August 8th: I traveled alone, moving west on Route 50. I had just left twelve-year-old R.J. at a cemetery in Pocomoke. It was the worst day.

I checked my Ronald McDonald House voicemail and activated the single message left that day. Donn Weinberg's voice followed...

"Marianne! I would like to congratulate you! The Weinberg Foundation has agreed to a gift of $100,000 per year for each of the next five years..."

I burst into tears, overwhelmed by my expansive range of emotions. I looked skyward and said out loud, "Thank you, R.J.!" It was the best day.

House Manager Lisa Miller holds up the first $100,000 Weinberg gift!

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation has become our lead Caring Partner, sending a clear message in their support of our mission. Our thanks go to Donn Weinberg and the other trustees for supporting the journeys we share with children like R.J. The outcome is not always what we hope for, but at the end, we are proud to have been a part of it. You can be proud, too.
